PRESS RELEASE

The M.N.K. is a new organisation that after many years of gestation has at last been born real. It is of the counter-culture and dispenses with its need: the vision of the M.N.K. is all-powerful. We are valid to all people. We connect with everyone, and everyone can connect with M.N.K..

The counter-culture has rarely been at a stronger point in its history. Its demise is a lie. Dissent is a rallying call. The anger against the Criminal Justice Bill; the so-called 'sleaze' of the establishment and aristocracy; the animosity generated against the Child Support Agency; the failing of the Church of England; the direct-action of the Green movement; the cuts in the student grants; the rail worker's strike. The list continues. All of this illustrates the deep unease of society. These cases are outlets for anger and frustration toward the general system - they are not just about these individual causes. This country's counter-culture threatens to become the culture. M.N.K. understands this. It is our will to express this and take action against the negative will. Everyone is welcome to join the M.N.K. because it brings adventure, ideas and magic that everyone has the ability to enjoy.

We are constantly being offered ideas to enrich our lives. Art, we have been told, enriches us, enfolds us and strengthens us. Art can thrill us and take us on journeys. It can give us insights into mankind's machinations; it can will us to think. All of these are real. They all have their place, but none of these can compare to the transcendental experience that Life holds in its very self. Take a deep breath, suck in the air. Tread steadily through early morning city mist. Let water run through fingers. Speed a car through deserted lanes. Glance at lovers clasped together. Climb the high hill, seek friendly rooftops. Gaze deep into the horizon. Go for a walk at 4am, let the freezing wind clutch your skin. Do all these things. Remind yourself that you are alive. It is not about being clever. It is not about being new. There is too much in our world that makes us forget that we live.

We do not have a song for the cynic.

The M.N.K. are at work now. Their presence in Oxford is already manifest. Their name is everywhere. Yet, the plans of the M.N.K. reach deep into the country's culture. Very soon we will become apparent. Our actions, although often clandestine, will have lasting effect on all countries. We are the new force. You too can be part of this.
