Communication Sheet 18
This is The Great Contradiction. Compared to this world, this solar system, this universe - we are nothing. We stare into night skies and see billion year old light from stars that are already dead. Our sense of place amidst this arch of space is hardly bearable. Tiny we are, yet, from where we stand, we can only be gods. We only know what we see and sense. Ultimately, everything tails off from where we stand. The sun maybe the centre of our solar system, but we can only be the centre of our universe.
Humans, all humans, continually struggle against contradiction. Recent evolution has taught us something new. Our very souls are based on contradiction. There is a truth so strange and unmanageable that we have phased it out of our basic selves.
Time and space died the day before yesterday.
